We started with a room service breakfast this morning. It was quite a treat at 58 Euros, but it was lovely. It included delicious chocolat chaud (hot chocolate), orange juice and assorted pastries with jams and butter. We sampled each of the jams, of course.
After breakfast we headed out for the Rick Steves Rue Cler Walk. Rick’s audio tours have been very valuable and informative. Rue Cler is a pedestrian street with shops and markets. We could smell the gariguette strawberries as we walked along the fruit stand.
From there we traveled to Invalides to see Napoleon’s Tomb.
Next stop, the Rodin museum for the sculptures. We started in the garden. The roses were amazing (so were the sculptures). After the garden we continued into the museum, Rodin’s former home.
One of his famous sculptures, The Thinker, is seen from different angles below. Note the roses. They were huge and everywhere.
For lunch we went to the Michelin starred Alan Geeam. It was quite a treat.
After lunch we went back to hotel to rest then headed to the Orsay Museum. They had a band playing and it was rocking.
For our last dinner in Paris we decided to have another classic: steak frites. At Le Relais de L’Entrecote it’s the only thing on the menu. They don’t take reservations so we waited in line for about 30 minutes. Once we were seated things moved quickly and the food started rolling. We were served salad and bread followed by the steaks and fries.
The steak comes with a delicious gravy. We soaked it up with our fries and bread. There’s also a little pot of Dijon mustard on the table to eat with your steak. No sooner had we finished our first portion when a server arrived to dish up second options. Once seated it was a quick and inexpensive meal. It was worth the wait!
Love Rodin Museum. Have spent hours & hours there. Sounds like you fell in love with Paris. Keep enjoying & keep your words & pictures coming.
We loved Paris! The Rodin was definitely a favorite. The gardens were so peaceful. I could sit and look at his sculptures all day long.
