We reached this tiny osteria after a delightful walk through the winding alleys of Venice. It is in the Cannaregio area about 20 minutes north (walking) of St. Mark’s Square.
The food was fresh and delicious. We started with the grilled octopus. It was very tender and was served on a bed of polenta and greens.
Note the cork on the wine bottle below. What an ingenious way to hold the cork! We have never seen this before.
Trey chose gnocchetti (small gnocchi) with tuna, lemon and mint as his pasta course. I can attest that it was delicious as we switched plates midway through.
I chose the tagliatelle with sea bass. It was also delicious.
For our main we shared the mixed grill. I’ve forgotten the types of fish but the shrimp and all three fish were extremely fresh and flavorful, seasoned with a drizzle of olive oil and salt.
We finished with amazing tiramisù.
