We decided to eat at Le Relais de l’Entrecôte for our last dinner in Paris. There are several locations. This one is very close to our hotel and they do not take reservations so we were able to arrive at our convenience, which meant early as we wanted to get back to the hotel at a decent time to prepare for our departure the next morning. This restaurant serves one main course, steak frites also known as steak and fries.
We arrived at around 7:15 and encountered a line of about 25 people. The line moved slowly. We probably waiting around 30 minutes.
Once we were seated, everything moved quickly. Immediately after our waitress took our drink order and asked what temperature we would like our steak cooked to, our salads and bread arrived. The salad was lightly dressed with a mustardy vinaigrette, sliced radishes and walnuts. It was very good. The bread was the crispy, chewy deliciousness that we came to know and love in Paris.
As soon as salad plates were cleared, the steak frites arrived. It was simple and delicious. We ate every bite and soaked up the sauce with bread and frites. When our plates were empty, the waitress appeared with a platter of steak and sauce. She replenished our plates and returned with a tray of frites.
Le Relais de l’Entrecôte was reasonably priced, easy and quick. We would definitely return!
