What a charming little place! We had the pleasure of sitting next to a friendly couple who were regulars of the restaurant. The husband was Parisian and his wife was from Delaware. She moved to Paris in the ’90’s. They have eaten almost the entire menu and made several recommendations. In fact, we ordered meals nearly identical to what they were eating.
I started with the smoked herring with sliced potatoes and daikon radish. The fish was lightly smoked and did not have the strong fishy taste sometimes associated with herring. Trey started with a salad of deviled eggs with mayo and assorted lettuces. They were both very good.
For our plats Trey had the fondant pork belly with roasted potatoes and I had Polmard beef carpaccio with parmesan cheese. Fantastic!
We also ordered a delicious wine the couple sitting next to us was drinking. It was a light red produced in the Alps.
Dessert was the cheese plate for me and included ewe milk (they called it this rather than sheep’s milk, LOL) and a Camembert with apples and calvados. It was a meal to remember.
More food pictures please 😬 Unless you feel conspicuous taking them – don’t want to look too much like tourists!
There’s no hiding that we tourists, even before we open our mouths (LOL) but Trey tries to be sneaky with the food pics. And sometimes we dig in so fast that we forget. I’ve noticed that you can see my hand holding a fork in most pics 😂. I’m ready to go!
