At the end of February 2021, we decided to venture out for a quick trip to Sin City. We stayed at the Cosmopolitan for the first time. We had a great room on the 23rd floor (pics to follow) with a nice view of the Bellagio fountains. We had multiple yummy meals, did a lot of walking, and were loyal to a Game of Thrones slot machine. We didn’t win big but did come home with some of the dollars we brought to “spend”. All in all it was a great trip, however, we both agreed that we might not return to the Cosmo. It’s definitely skewed toward a younger crowd. The Venetian and The Palazzo are more our speed!
We also had some delicious meals on this trip. We went to Lotus of Siam, an award-winning Thai restaurant. We tried their prix fixe meal with multiple courses. It was pricey but all were very good.
Kha soi in the back and papaya salad These were garlic prawns served with the crispy shells that you also ate. They were fantastic.
We tried Hattie B’s chicken. The mac and cheese and the greens were so good. Please disregard the sauce top that “someone” licked, lol.
Hot chicken, mac n cheese and greens.
And Momofuku was amazing…
Duck Confit Ramen Crispy Lamb Ribs with chile yoghurt, tingly salt and cilantro. May have dug in before taking pic!
We also had brunch at Bouchon-a Thomas Keller Restaurant, one of our Vegas favorites in the Venetian Hotel.
I had the mussels with a white wine, mustard and saffron broth. Also, truffle fries, yum. Trey had something delicious and breakfasty with eggs, gravy and meat!
That pretty much wraps up our Vegas experience this year and ending it on a food note is pretty much perfect.
